In most cases, some form of binder is needed when manufacturing pressed disks for XRF analysis. Boric acid has traditionally been used, but as it is now classified by REACH as toxic, Fluxana can offer other alternatives. We sell the following products:
- BOREOX a direct replacement for boric acid. A harmless organic material with very good properties and high resistance to X-rays. Excellent to use as background material.
- CEREOX can also be used as an alternative to Boric acid. It contains wax and was previously sold under the brand name Hoechst wax. A clean material with high resistance to X-rays.
- CELLEOX is a cellulose-based binder. Does not offer as good properties as a binder but is used as an aid in grinding.
