We have the privilege of being able to offer antigen tests, so-called rapid tests, to determine active SARS-CoV-2 infection. The rapid test is based on testing saliva, which means that nose and / or throat swabbing is not needed. The sample is collected by the test person spitting in a collection vessel with pre-dosed buffer solution and then passing the solution to the test strip through the lid of the collection vessel. Everything is prepared and the method is very simple. No pre-filling of buffer is needed, everything is ready.
Results can be read after 10 minutes. The test has a clinical specificity of 100% and a sensitivity of 94%.

Rapid tests, or diagnostic devices intended for near patient use (also referred to as point of care testing), are tests which are performed and read by healthcare professionals near the patient.
